MAJORETTES CONTINUED SUCCESS
Immingham's very own Mayflower Majorettes are having to expand their weekly training classes.  A new class is being held at the Immingham Civic Centre.
The group attends many events throughout the year.   These include parades, displays and competitions organised by the Yorkshire Carnival Association.  The largest is the week long Universal Championships held in Bridlington's Spa Theatre.  Here they join troupes from all over the country in competition.
The new classes, on Mondays, are for the following age groups:

Dinkies: 8 years and under 5.30-6.30pm
Tinies:   11years and under 6.30-7.30pm

The troupe's two other teams, Juniors (14 years and under) and Seniors (over 14 years), continue to train at St Andrews church hall on a Tuesday evening from 6pm-8pm. Classes are £150 per week and uniforms are provided.
New members can come along to the class for their age group or telephone Immingham 572569 for more information.

WRESTLING FUN COMES
T
O IMMINGHAM
Imingham is the home of two aspiring wrestlers.  Ron Wilkinson (27) now heads the Elite Wrestling Council (EWC)school and federation.  Jason Ranyard (19) is one of the EWC's rising stars.  August saw the first of a planned series of bi-monthly wrestling shows at the Civic Centre.
Ron Wilkinson took the opportunity to buy the rights to the EWC and Stevie Knight's Gym in Grimsby after wrestling for just a year.  The gym now attracts people from all over northern Lincolnshire.  Training is provided for everyone, male or female, from 10 year and up.  Ron insists that there is no discrimination and it does not matter what a persons size, shape, age or sex is.
A local committee has been set up to help with accessing funding enable the provision of training for young people alongside the
Youth Action Team.  Anyone willing to help with this committee should ring 01469 571280.
Ron says that the style of wrestling they have developed has adapted British wrestling to the American style.  He calls it,
"Complete entertainment."  The EWC is sponsoring an ongoing series of shows throughout northern Lincolnshire.  These shows include only local wrestlers.  If you feel you could make a good wrestler or would just like to try your hand ring 01469 571280 for further details.
