SHOOTING FISH
Three local Drama students have joined forces to form the Shooting Fish Theatre company.  Darren Bolton, Paula Wall, Shane Thornberry all from North East Lincolnshire met for the first time at Manchester University
This year they ran a series of workshops with local young people.   For the last 3 weeks they have worked really hard alongside 18 pupils from schools in the area to present "Our Day Out" by Willy Russell.  The young people have worked long days to finish the scenery and to rehearse. The result was a very enjoyable performance.
"Everyone has worked very hard." said Darren, "They have all put in a lot of time and effort.  The whole performance has gone amazingly, brilliantly well!"
I certainly had a wonderful time and loved the part when the cast sang
"Who's watching who?" and wandered around the audience.  We hope to see more of these young actors in the future. If they can do this in 2 weeks they will go far, I'm sure.
Darren, Shane and Paula will be returning to Manchester for the final year of their
Drama and Writing degrees soon and we wish them every success.  We owe you a great big "Thankyou!".

INNOVATIVE NEW SERVICE
Rethink is the largest severe mental illness charity in the UK.   It is dedicated to improving the lives of everyone affected by severe mental illness. Those who have a condition themselves, care for others who do, or are professionals or volunteers working in the mental health field.
August saw the North East Lincolnshire Helpline and Crisis Service open a new site.  The site, is based in a newly refurbished local authority building and will offer 4 units of single bed accommodation.  Along with the accommodation are associated community and rethink office facilities.
This service will be accessed by the helpline and by the local statutory crisis team who will work closely with the service. Access is by referral only.
Staff will be available 7 days a week, 24-hours a day.  Service users assessed as requiring the service can stay up to 7 nights.  During this time all agencies involved in supporting them will work to resolve the individual's crisis and develop coping strategies based on recovery principles.
