NEIGHBOURHOOD FORUMS WHAT'S THE BIG FUSS? Whether you are a Resident, Dentist, Doctor; fireman, Business owner, Councillor, and a service provider. If you are involved with a community group or not. The Neighbourhood Forum is for you. The neighbourhood Forum gives you the opportunity to meet with other people from Immingham. To discuss what is happen in your town and to look at issues that effect our lives every day. Together we can work to a solution. It's about sharing opportunities and new information and solutions. No one person or group should have to struggle. The neighbourhood forum is here to help and support you. We each have our own experiences and solutions to work around barriers or problems. Cheryl King has been elected to be the main contact person. If you want more information about the Neighbourhood Forum please do give Cheryl a call on 573583 or ring Penny Humphries, Community Development Worker, on 515079. The next Neighbourhood Forum will be held on Thursday 10th October, 6pm at the Immingham Resource Centre.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT WORKER Hi! As Immingham's Community Development Worker for the past 2 years I must say that I am overwhelmed by the willingness of the residents to get involved in improving their community. There such a lot of wonderful work going on the never gets the publicity or recognition that it truly deserves. Yet in spite of this individuals and groups are still so willing to give their time and skills freely. Community development is about helping communities to help themselves. Its about giving people informed choices and providing the opportunities to improve their quality of life. Sometimes we are totally unaware of what is available for us, what service we need or can offer to others. This is where your Community Development Worker can help. I may not have all the information but I can always point you in the right direction or make that important call to set the wheels in motion. It might be information about courses, activities, debts, your rights, funding, training or just getting involved as a volunteer. Please give me a call on 515079 or call in the Immingham Resource Centre either on a Monday or Wednesday morning 9.30am to 12.00.
Penny Humphries
